Welp, our trailer is gone.
That is the call I get around sunrise from foremen and hotshot drivers. Then begins the scramble. Call the sheriff. Find a rental machine. Keep the crew moving. Insurance just becomes an afterthought and that is where money gets left on the table.

Most people don't realize you can hire a public adjuster for this kind of loss. If your rig, trailer, tools, or load are insured under contractor equipment, inland marine, motor truck cargo, a public adjuster can represent you. We document value, line up replacement costs, and hold the insurance company to the promise of like kind and quality rather than their typical a pennies on the dollar offer.

Here is how that works in practice. We match the damages to your policy schedule or the blanket limit. We gather original equipment manufacturer repair or replacement pricing and current market comparisons from equipment marketplaces to defeat the insurance cash value numbers. For freight claims, we tie together the bill of lading, proof of delivery, any over short or damaged notes, electronic logging device timestamps, load out photos, and weather reports so the file tells a clear, complete story. A clean file moves a claim from the backburner on somebodys desk to paid and closed.

If your gooseneck disappears, your welding rig drags up, or hail wrecks your freight, call before you file. A short policy review can be the difference between rental and downtime being covered or you eating the cost. We will tell you if it is or isnt a claim. If it is, we will set you up correctly from day one.

Most people think of public adjusters as just “the roof guys.” But did you know your FARM & RANCH policy often covers far more than just your home or barn?

Here are a few things many ranchers don’t realize they can claim after a storm, fire, or theft:

•Barns, shops, and fencing – hail, wind, or fire damage
•Tractors, balers, skid steers, welders, and trailers – stolen, burned, or wrecked in storms
•Feed, hay, and stored grain – destroyed by fire or storm damage
•Livestock – if listed on your policy, coverage can include fire, lightning, accidents, or even theft
•Loss of use – boarding animals elsewhere or renting replacement equipment while yours is down

The problem? Insurance companies often pay pennies on the dollar, using depreciation or policy loopholes and by sending their most inexperienced adjusters. That’s where we step in.

At Hayden Claims Group, we know the value of equipment, the cost of feed, and the sweat equity that goes into every acre. When disaster strikes, we fight to make sure you’re treated fairly not left with empty feed sacks.

Call us before you file a claim. We will ALWAYS offer complementary policy review and advice to help you choose your best next steps. Being prepared from day one sets the tone and saves weeks of back-and-forth negotiations with your insurance.

Your roof didn’t “just wear out.”
The storm happened.
You file a claim.
Insurance sends their adjuster and we show up with proof.

Here’s our playbook (fast + fierce):

1) Find it.
We sweep every inch—roof, gutters, attic, ceilings. Photos, measurements, moisture readings. If it’s damaged, we prove it.

2) Fix the date.
Wrong or too-narrow date of loss? We pull storm data + on-site evidence and pin it down so valid damage isn’t tossed on a technicality.

3) Nail the cause.
We explain—clearly—that this was sudden & accidental, not slow wear-and-tear. Facts > opinions.

4) Decode your policy.
We hunt the fine print—coverage, exclusions, code upgrades, depreciation, matching, ALE. No “gotchas.” Just what the contract actually says.

5) Teach the claim.
Line by line, we show what proper repairs really take: underlayment, flashing, ventilation, decking, interior. Code & manufacturer specs included.

6) Price it right (here, not online).
Local labor. Local materials. Code-correct scope. No shortcuts today that become leaks tomorrow.

7) Drive it home.
Reinspections, supplements, desk reviews—organized and carrier-ready. If it’s an amount-of-loss fight, we prep for appraisal per the policy.

8) Finish the job.
Final invoice mirrors the approved scope, lender endorsements handled, recoverable depreciation released. Full claim—not half.

Hill Country straight talk. No upfront fee—we only get paid when you do.

$200 or $20,000? 🤔
Standing-seam metal roof with a torn/dented panel. Is this “replace a few panels”…or a major repair?

Reality check:

Standing seam isn’t spot-repairable. Panels interlock and are clipped every 12–24". To remove one, you have to unseam and pull panels back to a natural break (eave/ridge/valley/penetration).

Patches don’t hold. They deform ribs, trap water, void warranties, and fail with thermal movement.

A split/tear is a storm-created opening (functional damage). The correct fix is panel replacement to the nearest breaks—usually a full run and, for color/warranty uniformity, often the entire slope. If profile/paint lot can’t be matched, it can mean a full roof.

How we win this with carriers:
Cause = sudden & accidental ✓ • Functional opening (not “cosmetic”) ✓ • Manufacturer instructions (no field patch on torn panels) ✓ • Scope to natural breaks ✓ • Uniform finish/warranty ✓

Your call: $200 or $20K? Drop your guess below.
Got a dent/tear like this? DM “TEAR” and we’ll review your photos + policy and tell you if it supports run/slope—or whole roof—replacement. No pressure, no upfront fee.

COSMETIC EXCLUSIONS: the fine print that quietly guts hail coverage on metal roofs

Quick truth: a lot of Hill Country homeowners have a cosmetic damage exclusion and don’t know it. It often gets added at renewal to make the premium look cheaper.

What is it?
It says the insurer won’t pay for damage that only affects appearance—dents, dings, scuffs, finish damage—unless the roof’s ability to shed water is impaired. Translation: your metal roof can be hammered by hail and still get denied as “cosmetic.”

Why agents include it
It lowers the quote. You save upfront… but a hailstorm later can leave you with a $20K–$60K roof bill.

Why metal roofs are at risk
Hail dents can:
• crack coatings → speed corrosion
• deform seams/lock ribs → loosen fasteners over time
• void manufacturer warranties
With a cosmetic exclusion, the carrier can call these “just dents.”

5-minute self-check

Grab your Declarations Page + full Endorsements (not just the dec page).

Look for phrases like: “Cosmetic/Aesthetic Damage Exclusion,” “Roof Surface Cosmetic Damage,” “Metal Roof Cosmetic Damage,” or “Loss Settlement – Roof Surfacing ACV.”

If you can’t find the endorsements, ask your agent for the full policy packet.

What to ask your agent (copy/paste)

“Please confirm in writing whether my policy has any cosmetic or aesthetic damage exclusions for roof/siding and whether my roof is settled at RCV or ACV. I have a metal roof and want full hail coverage, including finish/coating damage. If there’s an exclusion, quote options without it.”

If you already have the exclusion
We work to prove functional damage (not just dents): coating fractures/exposed base metal, seam/rib deformation, fastener movement, punctures, flashing issues, interior evidence—plus manufacturer specs and code items that are still covered.

✅ Free Policy Review

DM us “POLICY” and attach your dec page + endorsements (PDF or clear photos). We’ll check for cosmetic exclusions (and ACV roof settlement) and tell you—plainly—what’s at risk and what options you have.
No pressure, no upfront fee, Texas homeowners only.

What’s a Public Adjuster, and why should you care?

When your home or ranch gets hit by hail, wind, water, or fire, the insurance company sends their adjuster. Their job is to protect the carrier.
A Public Adjuster (PA) is the licensed professional who works only for you. We document the loss, value repairs correctly, and negotiate your claim so you’re paid everything your policy promises, no guessing, no lowball “repairs,” no missed code items.

What we actually do for you?

Inspect & document: Full roof/structure walkthrough, attic checks, moisture mapping, photos, measurements, and a line-item scope of damage.

Policy review: We translate the fine print—coverage, exclusions, code-upgrade endorsements, depreciation, ALE/LOU, deductibles.

Estimate properly: We build real-world repair estimates (Xactimate & trade pricing) that reflect local labor, materials, and building code.

Negotiate: We handle the back-and-forth with the carrier, field adjusters, and desk examiners—including supplements and re-inspections.

Close & collect: We push past delays, manage paperwork, and keep your claim moving to final payment.

When to call us

Before you file (smartest time)—we’ll confirm it’s claim-worthy and set it up right.

After a partial denial or low offer.

If your claim is stuck (no updates, circular requests, or “we need more photos”).

When there’s hidden or code-required work (underlayment, flashing, ventilation, decking, electrical/plumbing, interior).

If you don’t have time to manage a claim like a second job.

What it costs

No upfront fee. Our fee is a small percentage of the settlement and is spelled out in writing. We only get paid when you get paid.

In Texas, PA fees are regulated and fully disclosed—we’ll show you exactly how it works for your situation.

Common myths (quick truth check)

“Using a PA makes my rates go up.” Premiums are driven by many factors. Filing a claim may affect pricing regardless of who helps you. Our role is making sure your covered loss is fully and correctly paid.

“My contractor can negotiate for me.” In Texas, contractors cannot legally negotiate your claim unless they’re also licensed as a PA. We’re licensed to represent you in that process.

“The adjuster already looked—nothing else to do.” Initial inspections often miss code items, manufacturer specs, and hidden damage. That’s where we earn our keep.

What we don’t do

We don’t work for the insurance company.

We don’t inflate claims or “pad” scopes—everything is documented and justifiable.

We don’t waive deductibles (illegal in TX).

We’re not your contractor; we’re your advocate to secure the right funding so quality contractors can do the job right.

Local, straight talk

We serve the Texas Hill Country. We know our roofs, our limestone, our codes, and what repairs actually cost here, not on a spreadsheet 1,000 miles away.
