Generation Z, the largest demographic group ever, has started to mature into new renters, while rising expenses keep making homeownership unattainable for most millennials. In addition, as baby boomers downsize and move to cities, the number of renters has steadily increased.
To keep up with the pace, the United States will need to build 4.6 million additional housing units by 2030, or 50% more than what was built in the previous ten years.
