Election Day is just 2 weeks away. Every election matters, but this year's election could bring new leadership to Colorado, new policies, and a shift in partisan control of Congress.

Beyond the candidates on the ballot, Colorado's 2026 ballot features the largest number of citizen-led initiatives. While agriculture isn't the focus of any particular initiative, a welcome reprieve for our industry, many initiatives will still affect the business environment in which the Colorado livestock industry operates.

This evening, CLA leadership and staff along with our partners from the Colorado Cattlemen's Association hosted an event in support of Rep. Jeff Hurd (CO-03) and Congressman Gabe Evans (CO-08).

We’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with leaders who are working on the issues that matter to Colorado agriculture, from water and ag labor to the Farm Bill. Thank you to everyone who helped make this evening possible and continues to advocate for Colorado’s livestock industry!

With the elections approaching, remember to make your voice heard and vote! Take the time to learn about the candidates and support those with a demonstrated track record of supporting Colorado agriculture and the producers who keep our industry strong.

Colorado Farm Bureau, Colorado Cattlemen's Association , Colorado Livestock Association , Colorado Wool Growers Association , and Rocky Mountain Farmers Union formally condemned today's announcement by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) to suspend the lethal take and removal of chronically depredating wolves.

Colorado Farm Bureau, Colorado Cattlemen's Association , Colorado Livestock Association , Colorado Wool Growers Association , and Rocky Mountain Farmers Union formally condemned today's announcement and unconscionable action taken by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) to suspend the lethal take and removal of chronically depredating wolves.

“This reprehensible decision directly contradicts direct stakeholder input that was painstakingly gathered over years of good faith dialogue between the Department, sportsmen, wildlife advocates, farmers, ranchers, biologists, and more,” says Carlyle Currier, President of the Colorado Farm Bureau and 4th Generation Western Slope Rancher. “It’s nearly unfathomable that CPW intends to abdicate their obligations to our farming, ranching, and rural communities after so many strides in rebuilding trust on conflict mitigation, non-lethal tool employment, fair-compensation structures, and broader reintroduction success.”

This position plays an important role in supporting CLA members, strengthening relationships across the livestock industry, and advancing the Association’s programs and initiatives.

This position will:
-Serve as a key point of contact for CLA members
-Support member engagement and retention
-Manage the Association’s safety group program
-Build relationships with industry partners
-Help identify and address member needs

This is a great opportunity to build meaningful relationships throughout the livestock industry while contributing to the continued success of CLA and Colorado’s livestock industry.
