Exploring career opportunities can start at an early age, and thanks to the 7th Up Program with the Kennebec Valley Chamber, local seventh graders recently got an inside look at careers in community banking.

During their visit, students connected with KSB team members who shared their unique career journeys, discussed the skills that help them succeed in today's financial industry, and talked about what they enjoy most about their roles. Experiences like 7th Up help spark curiosity, encourage students to think about their futures, and showcase the many career possibilities available right here in Central Maine.

We're grateful for the opportunity to participate in this year's program and look forward to seeing the impact these future leaders will make in the years ahead!

The Kennebec Valley YMCA is proud to announce that Andrew Silsby, President and CEO of Kennebec Savings Bank, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 John Bridge Community Service Award!

Andrew will be formally presented with this special award on Wednesday, November 4, from 5–8 PM during our Annual Denim & Donors Auction at the Kennebec Valley YMCA.

For many years, Andrew has been a dedicated supporter of the Kennebec Valley YMCA and our mission. His commitment to our community has included supporting Camp KV, helping ensure that local children have the opportunity to experience the friendships, growth, confidence, and memories that camp provides.

Hope was on full display in our community today. We were proud to take part in the MaineGeneral Health Day of Hope in Augusta, walking alongside survivors, fighters, caregivers, and loved ones.

Through the generosity of our team members and the Bank’s matching contributions, we raised funds to support the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. We’re grateful for the opportunity to come together for such a meaningful cause and help strengthen cancer care services for individuals and families throughout Central Maine.

What a save!

Every stop at Fitzpatrick Stadium means more than keeping the ball out of the net. Through our Saves for Youth Soccer program, every save by a Portland Hearts of Pine goalkeeper means another $100 donated to support youth soccer right here in Maine.

And the saves are adding up! So far this season, $4,400 is headed to Maine youth soccer.
