When people think of Medicare, they often assume their coverage takes care of everything they need.

But there are some important gaps to understand.

Original Medicare doesn’t cover:

• Routine dental care, such as cleanings, fillings, and dentures

• Routine eye exams for glasses or contacts

• Hearing aids and exams for fitting them

Some Medicare Advantage plans offer these benefits as part of their coverage. Others may not provide the benefits you need. They may have specific networks, allowances, or limitations.

There are also stand-alone Dental, Vision, and Hearing plans that may be an option for people who want additional coverage.

The important thing is to understand what your current coverage actually includes and what you may be responsible for paying out of pocket.

If you have questions about Dental, Vision, and Hearing, reach out to us at [email protected] or call/text 248-648-1802

What if an Accident Happens?

You probably have health insurance. But have you ever thought of what happens after an accident?

A broken bone, an ER trip, ambulance ride, or an unexpected injury can mean more than just medical bills. You could also have deductibles, copays, coinsurance, transportation costs, or other expenses to deal with.

That’s where Accident Insurance may help.

Accident Insurance is supplemental coverage that can provide benefits when you experience a covered accident. Depending on the policy, benefits may be paid for things like emergency treatment, hospital care, fractures, or other covered services.

Remember that it is designed to supplement existing coverage. It does not replace your major medical health insurance.

Accidents aren’t something we plan for, but understanding your options before one happens can make a difference.

If you’d like to learn more about Accident Insurance, reach out at [email protected] or call/text 248-648-1802

Can I Change My Medicare Plan Anytime?

Short answer: Usually, no.

Medicare has specific enrollment periods that determine when you can make changes to your coverage.

However, depending on your circumstances, you may have opportunities to change your plan outside of the Annual Enrollment Period.

One way you may be able to make a change is if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) because of certain life events, such as:

• Moving to a new area
• Losing other health coverage
• Moving into or out of certain types of institutions
• Qualifying for certain assistance programs
• Other circumstances that create a Special Enrollment Period

And of course, Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs from October 15th through December 7th each year, giving beneficiaries an opportunity to review and change their coverage for the following year.

Don’t assume you’re stuck with your current plan or that you can change it whenever you want.

Your individual circumstances determine what enrollment opportunities may be available to you.

If you have questions about when you can make a change, we are happy to help! Call or text at 248-648-1802 or email at [email protected]

New Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program for Obesity is Here!

Big news for many Medicare beneficiaries!

A new temporary Medicare GLP-1 Bridge Program is now available for eligible individuals who are prescribed certain GLP-1 medications for obesity treatment.

The program runs through December 31, 2027 and is designed to improve access to eligible medications for those who meet the program’s requirements.

Beneficiaries must meet basic requirements to qualify:

• Have Medicare Part D coverage (program works outside of Part D)
• Can’t participate if you’re already on a GLP-1 (program is for obesity only)
• Use medication alongside lifestyle modifications such as nutrition and physical activity
• Have a provider submit a prior authorization request

BMI qualifications:

• BMI > 35 (no additional health conditions required)
• BMI > 30 (Plus, certain qualifying conditions such as: heart failure, uncontrolled hypertension, and chronic kidney disease stage 3 or higher)

The program may provides access to covered GLP-1 medications with a $50 monthly copayment. Keep in mind that eligibility is based on specific clinical criteria, and your healthcare provider must submit a prior authorization as part of the process.

If you’ve been thinking about going on a GLP-1, this may be the perfect opportunity to give it a try! You must talk to your doctor to get the ball rolling, but if you have any questions about the program or GLP-1 medications in general, please don’t hesitate to send us a message, call/text 248-648-1802, or email [email protected].

Could a hospital stay impact your finances?

Most people have health insurance, but that doesn't always mean every hospital expense is covered.

Even with good coverage, you may still be responsible for costs like:
• Deductibles
• Copays
• Coinsurance
• Other out-of-pocket expenses

Here's where Hospital Indemnity insurance may help.

These plans pay a cash benefit if you're admitted to the hospital, giving you extra financial flexibility when you need it most. These benefits can be used to help with medical bills, everyday expenses like groceries, utilities, or transportation during recovery.

Hospital Indemnity coverage isn't for everyone, but it's worth understanding how it works and whether it's a good fit for you.

If you'd like to learn more about Hospital Indemnity plans, feel free to reach out. Send a message, call/text 248-648-1802, or email [email protected].
