As we celebrate 75 years in the communities we serve, we’re taking a moment to recognize the people who go above and beyond to make a difference. Our fourth Community Hero, Whitney Franklin, was nominated for the many ways she turns compassion into action and uses her time, talents, and voice to make a difference in the lives of others.

Through her work with the Better Business Bureau Education Foundation, Whitney helps students, seniors, and families learn how to recognize and protect themselves from scams and financial fraud. As the founder of Crowned with Purpose, she creates opportunities for young people to grow through free pageants, leadership workshops, mentorship, and community service. She also brings people together by building local partnerships, supporting charitable events and businesses, and creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcomed and valued.

Whitney’s impact reaches far beyond any one initiative. She leads by opening doors for others and encouraging the people around her to recognize their own potential. Please join us in celebrating Whitney and the positive difference she continues to make! 👑💙

As we celebrate 75 years of serving and supporting the communities we serve, we’re proud to shine a light on the people whose dedication makes a lasting difference. Our third Community Hero, Mrs. Tasich, was nominated for the incredible impact she has made on generations of students throughout her 28 years as an educator.

As a 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Tasich goes far beyond just teaching math. She takes the time to understand each student’s unique needs, finds different ways to help them learn, and recognizes their individual potential. She creates a classroom where students feel comfortable, supported, and seen.

The impact of a great teacher can last far beyond the classroom, and Mrs. Tasich is a wonderful example of that. We’re honored to celebrate someone who has spent nearly three decades encouraging students, believing in their abilities, and leaving a lasting impression on so many lives! 🍎😊

As we mark 75 years of being part of the communities we serve, we’re taking time to celebrate the individuals who help make those communities stronger. Our second Community Hero, Emily, was nominated in recognition of the meaningful work she leads through Growing Pontiac, a 100% volunteer-led non-profit focused on bringing people together and strengthening their gardening skills.

Through Growing Pontiac, Emily and her team create opportunities for neighbors to learn, volunteer, grow food, and come together. From community gardens to educational workshops, their work helps connect people while making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around them. Her commitment to creating a stronger, more connected community is truly inspiring.

We’re grateful for people like Emily who give their time and energy to make a lasting difference close to home. Please join us in celebrating the positive impact she continues to make in her community! 🌱

As we celebrate 75 years of serving our community, we’re honored to recognize the people who continuously make a difference. Our first Community Hero, nominated by Clinton Township Senior Member Advisor Joe, is Sgt. Politowicz, a retired U.S. Marine, Purple Heart recipient, coach, and mentor.

After being seriously wounded while serving in the Marines in 2011, Sgt. Politowicz refused to let his injuries define him. He went on to compete in the Wounded Warrior Games, earning a bronze medal in 2013, and was later honored by former President George W. Bush through his Portraits of Courage project. After returning home to Michigan, he earned degrees from Oakland University and Wayne State University and now works with students in the Anchor Bay School District while coaching both football and lacrosse. Through his work with young people, he continues to turn his experiences into inspiration for the next generation.

Join us in thanking Sgt. Politowicz for his service, perseverance, and the positive impact he continues to make in his community. We’re proud to celebrate him as our first Community Hero! 💙
