Lately, so many of my friends have aging parents and they are having to navigate assisted living or memory care. Many do not know how to pay for it. You can not look to Medicare, and places that accept Medicaid often have waiting lists, and they aren't necessarily the highest quality of care. I have been through this twice since 2020, first with my dad and then with my mother-in-law. I am a certified estate planner and licensed insurance advisor. It may or may not be too late for your parents, but I want to speak directly to you. Right now if you're somewhat healthy, you can replace your traditional life insurance (just a death benefit) for an upgraded more comprehensive policy.
These hybrid policies allow you to use your death benefit cash when you have Alzheimer's or dementia, or if you need assistance with your daily living. For example, on a $500,000 policy you could pull between $4,000 and $6,000 monthly. These are A+ rated, financially strong carriers. Not only that, you also have access for critical illness and critical injury. Cancer, heart attack and stroke are our top three most common claims. There are now about three dozen life insurers that offer this at no extra charge to the policyholder. Please visit my website and click on the "living benefits" page to read more. Does your policy have these benefits? For a no-cost review of your life insurance coverage, give me a call. Many of my clients traded in their death-benefit-only life insurance and they traded up to this comprehensive coverage at no additional monthly premium.
