I got my start in public service as a community organizer in Chicago. It was one of the most important jobs I had, because the people I met, the skills I learned, shaped me into the kind of leader I wanted to be.

Right now, we need more community organizers, teachers, doctors, scientists, and more running for office, so that we can have their voices and their values reflected at all levels of our government.
