FinCEN has extended the Jan. 1, 2025, deadline for most reporting companies to file beneficial ownership information reports with the Treasury Department until Jan. 13, 2025, after a federal court of appeals lifted an injunction on Dec. 23 that had halted the new law.

The deadline depends on when the company was created or registered:

Created or registered before January 1, 2024: The initial report is due January 1, 2025

Created or registered after January 1, 2025: The report is due within 30 days

⚠️ The fine for not filing a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report can be as high as $591 per day in civil penalties, with potential criminal penalties including a $10,000 fine and/or up to two years in prison for willful non-compliance.

A reminder to go to your three credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion) and put a credit freeze on all three and practice keeping your credit frozen until you need to use it. A lot of hacks going on where everyone is in danger of being compromised. The easiest way to get to the exact location to freeze your credit is the Google search each credit bureau with "credit freeze" or "freeze your credit" and a direct link should be made available. So, IRS just announced they are going in on auditing American Tax Payers, all while this "Clown Show" administration gives billions oversees, give illegal immigrants free shelter, food, and a loaded debit card, inflation is out of control, the American farmer can't get loans and are losing their farm land and going out of business, Americans were told to stand in line to verify their identity for their tax refund, and if the IRS owes you, more than likely you are in for a long wait, but if you owe the IRS and have not paid by now, you are about to be hit with penalty after penalty. This is America as we know it, today.

If you own a Corporation or an LLC, you have until January 1, 2025 to handle this, unless you have a new company formed in 2024, then you only have 90 days from formation. Go to www.fincen.gov/boi for more information and filing instructions. Some might be exempt from this action, so go through the FAQs to find out.

FAILURE TO REPORT THIS INFORMATION IS $500 PER DAY FOR EACH DAY THE VIOLATION CONTINUES AND/OR CRIMINAL FINES AND IMPRISONMENT.
