BET Cocoa is a people company. As a socially responsible organization, we aim to improve the quality of life of small-scale farmers, building on tradition and promoting diversity; and practising sustainability and openness with an enduring passion. “Doing well to do good” is embedded in our DNA, and we believe in giving back to our communities. And while BET Cocoa's focus is on growing some of the finest cocoa beans in the world, we are just as serious about contributing to cultural and economic development and social progress in our communities. Respect for human rights and the environment are fundamental to how we work. We believe that customers and consumers expect companies to behave in ethical and responsible ways. BET Cocoa’s ethical sourcing standards are based on International Labour Organisation Conventions, the UN Declaration of Human Rights and the Ethical Trading Initiative Base Code. Most of the farmers harvesting cocoa reap a tiny fraction of the profits from their beans. Because supporting those worker-run cocoa farms is absolutely vital, finding Fair Trade chocolate is extremely important.
