Hello, Hi. this is a PSA About GA access.
I know it seems scary that things are changing with ACA in our state. However, Georgia is not the first or the last state to have its own state exchange. It puts some essential pieces of the puzzle into GA's hands (including but not limited to, when our OE begins and ends, Medicaid expansion-- which we will have starting in 2025 in part due to GA Access, customer service for the exchange will be dedicated and located in GA, etc.)
Some of the other states that have their own exchanges are:
California
Colorado
DC
Illinois
Virginia
There are actually 19 states with state-based exchanges, and some of those are excellent examples of why this isn't scary.
The prospect of GA Access is actually why we have so many options available in the state of GA (remember when there were only 2? Yep. GA access is why carriers returned or entered our market.)
The Tax credits you got on HC.G are the same as you get on GA Access. the plans you had before exist the same, the only difference.. is where you sign up.
There have been some extremely beneficial things we've seen with GA Access, including how quickly documents are processed, the ways we can enroll and view our clients, how customer service is handled, wait times, etc.
All in all, while we have of course seen some first year hiccups (as we did with HC.G for several years in the beginning) overall we are extremely pleased with how the transition is going.
We do, however, encourage everyone to check in on their plans and run through their application just as we tell folks to do every year, but especially this year just in case there was any issue in transmitting data from one to the other.
