A lot of people hear the words “identity theft” or “FTC report” and automatically think somebody is lying or trying to avoid responsibility… when in reality, FRAUD also includes inaccurate, misleading, mixed, or unverifiable information being reported on your credit profile. 👀

That’s why the FIRST thing you should do is pull your reports and review EVERYTHING carefully.

🚩 Wrong balances
🚩 Incorrect late payment history
🚩 Accounts reporting multiple times
🚩 Addresses you never lived at
🚩 Name misspellings or mixed files
🚩 Unauthorized inquiries
🚩 Incorrect dates or statuses
🚩 Someone else’s information connected to your profile
🚩 Accounts reporting after legal timelines
🚩 Information that cannot be properly verified

Fraud doesn’t always mean someone physically stole your identity… it can also mean inaccurate or deceptive reporting tied to your consumer file.

If something on your report is inaccurate, misleading, unauthorized, or violates consumer reporting laws, you have the RIGHT to document it, dispute it, and protect yourself. 📄

The key is understanding the laws, identifying the violations correctly, and handling the process the right way — not just randomly filing claims without documentation.
