Workers’ Compensation audits are one of the most misunderstood parts of the policy lifecycle.

Thanks to Megan Morris, Susan Riebel, and Amanda Jacobs from Summit Insurance for walking our team through what actually matters during the audit process.

The takeaway was simple: accuracy and upfront communication prevent surprises later. Payroll classification, remuneration, and subcontractor tracking aren’t just details, they directly drive premium and client trust.

At Yates, educating clients early has always been part of how we operate, and this training helped us refine our approach so that audits stay proactive and support our partnership approach to risk management.

Born on this day in 1918, Dan built Yates Insurance on values that still guide us today: integrity, service, and community.
