On September 2nd, Firefly Aerospace Inc., an emerging provider of economical and dependable launch vehicles, spacecraft, and in-space service conducted the maiden flight of its Alpha launch vehicle from Vandenberg Space Force base in California.

During the two minutes and twenty-five seconds of flight Firefly obtained a substantial amount of flight data that will be utilized to improve the design of future Alpha launch vehicles, including the second flight vehicle, which is currently being integrated for flight at their Briggs, Texas manufacturing and test facility.

The first launch attempt for the Firefly Alpha rocket will take place on September 3 at the US Space Force base in Vandenberg, California. The launch window will open on September 3 from 6pm to 10 pm Pacific Daylight Time (from 4am to 8am Kyiv time).

Let’s take a look at a detailed report on venture investments in the space market, prepared by Noosphere Ventures.

According to public data collected by Noosphere Ventures, 78 rounds of financing were closed in Q2 2021, with a total investment of US$2.2B. Almost half of the companies which received investment are in the US, 43%. The Asian market share raised to 18%, Australia to 7%.
