We had the pleasure of accompanying the Ag Simulator to West Buncombe Elementary School Career Day this week.

We appreciate all our Buncombe County Schools for the opportunity to further educate the students about where their food comes from!

Last week we had the opportunity to attend the Mountain Women’s Agricultural Leadership Retreat hosted by Mitchell County Farm Bureau Women's Committee. Our own Jackie Gillespie was on the panel of speakers that offered a wide variety of workshops. We are always thankful for the opportunity to learn and grow our efforts as we continue to advocate for agriculture!

On Earth Day, we're highlighting how America’s farmers are doing more with less. Just 30 years ago, farmers needed 100 million additional acres to harvest the same amount of corn, cotton, rice, soybeans and wheat they grow today.

We are still reflecting on our week last week as we celebrated Ag Literacy Week and NC Farm Bureau "Ag in the Classroom"!

We visited over 19 schools and 1 homeschool group and shared with 1575 second graders about where their food comes from!

We want to give a special thank you to Tommy from Congressman Chuck Edwards office, Terri Wells for Commissioner, Kim Plemmons for BC BOE , and Eric Ager for joining us in the classrooms!

We also want to thank North Buncombe FFA, Enka FFA, Charles D. Owen High School and Clyde A. Erwin FFA for having their FFA students join us to read!

It was a great week!

🌾 We’ve had another fun filled day! 🐄

We visited over 20 classrooms today for NC Farm Bureau "Ag in the Classroom" Ag Literacy Week and then we finished our day by cooking and serving dinner for the WNC Beef Cattle Commission meeting this evening!

Our feet may be a little tired but our heart’s are full. We are thankful for this wonderful platform we serve!

Remember to thank a farmer!
