I apologize that it has been awhile since I have posted. Been a busy time. I wanted to say thank you to all our customers, realtors, builders, insurance agents, financial planners, attorneys, and city and county inspectors for their loyalty and for believing in our commitment to excellence in our endeavors to assist people with buying, refinancing, building and renovating their dream homes.

The Harris Team hit a milestone today. We were named in the Scotsman Guide to Top Mortgage Originators for 2020 in both Dollar Volume and Most Loans Closed! We couldn't have done it without all of you!

I am so proud of our team - Kevin Harris, Brittany Ryon, and Justin Shuffler! And thank you Primelending for making this a great place to work and for giving us all the tools we need to make this happen!

What NOT to do when getting a mortgage:

During this high volume time, here are some Quick Tips that will help your mortgage process go more smoothly:

1. When you reach out - email first! ([email protected]). This is a great way to get in my face and let me know you want my help. I always reply with a list of items that I will need so that you can be ready for step #2

2. Be prepared! Have your info in front of you when you send the email and when I follow up with a phone call. Paystubs, W2's, bank statements, social security numbers, dates of birth, etc Whether it is a purchase or a refinance, we need basically the same information.

3. Make sure my email is added to your list of contacts. If not, when I email you it will go into your spam or junk folder and you will think that I did not respond to you.

4. Have your questions ready! Whether a purchase, refinance, construction/renovation, or just general questions - on loan programs, first time homebuyer requirements, or credit qualifying - let me know what your needs are. (Needs may be: Little or no down payment; past credit issues, payment consciousness - comfort level keeping monthly payment to a certain level)

Happy Saturday everyone! I wanted to take a minute to say that I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! This is an uneasy time for a lot of us but we will get through it! Practice Namasta and stay 6 feet away!

I also wanted to take the time to thank the men and women who are on the front lines- our military, our health care workers, our public service providers, our essential workers, our emergency workers - everyone who puts their life on the line every day to make sure that the rest of us are safe, protected, and getting what we need.

The mortgage industry is as busy as it was back in the refi boom in 2008-2009! Rates are at an all time low. With that comes incredible volume which in turn creates a domino effect with lenders, attorneys, appraisers, insurance agents and employers because there is an increase in demand for services. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that were are GRATEFUL for the business. I know for me, it energizes me to be able to help so many people. Due to demand for services I am not giving the turn times and raving fan customer service that I am used to giving. I am working night and day, weekends, and holidays trying to get to everyone in a timely matter. There comes a point when you have to cut back and realize that people will understand.

So I post this today to tell you that this Mortgage Girl that you know is still here with the same knowledge, passion and heart to assist you. She is older and wiser too! But, during this time it might take her just a little longer to get your information to you, to process your loan, and to get you to closing. (Domino Effect). All the entitles I mentioned above are working as hard as we can TOGETHER but we are all experiencing DOUBLE the volume!

Cary, Clayton, Raleigh, Rocky Mount, Wilson & Durham branches recently donated $2,000 to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina which will help provide 10,000 meals to area partners, shelters and civic groups.
