Help! Does anyone have access or know someone in Roswell area with a minimum open land space of 500x500 foot or larger if possible? Our CAP rocket launch is this Saturday and our normal location is closed off as it is being used for Debris from the flood. Our rocket launch day is in jeopardy. Please help if you can.

Our Civil Air Patrol Squadron will have a table at 302 W Main St for Main Street Halloween 10/26/24 from 5pm to 7pm. Come by and get some candy, learn about our program for Students and Adults, and Fly a Tello drone! We will also raffle off 2 mini drones and have a display of rockets and other STEM items. Harvey & Simons is looking to grow. We are seeking a skilled accountant to join our firm as the Tax and Accounting Manager. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the bookkeeping staff and compliance processes, ensuring accurate and timely production of deliverables. This position is open to applicants located in Artesia, Carlsbad, and Roswell, NM.

**Duties:**

- Check financial statements for compliance with corporate and country laws and requirements

- Prepare and submit corporate tax reports to revenue authorities

- Maintain and analyze general ledger entries

- Keep thorough and accurate financial records

- Participate in reconciliations and audits as necessary

- Keep abreast of recent financial industry trends and developments

- Educate, and inspire team members in the accounting department

- Assess, create, and enhance departmental controls, systems, and practices to improve accuracy and productivity

- Ensure proper and timely completion of month-end and year-end reports

**Requirements:**

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

- 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting

- Strong knowledge of financial report interpretation and financial statement preparation

- Proficiency in accounting principles and practices

- Experience with regulatory reporting and general ledger reconciliation

- Knowledge of technical accounting standards

**Preferred Skills and Knowledge.**

-Leadership abilities

- Public Accountancy certification preferred

- Familiarity with payroll processes and debits/credits

We provide accounting, tax, and consulting services to individual and small business clients in Southeast New Mexico. We are currently seeking a competent bookkeeper to work in our Carlsbad or Artesia office.


Job Description:

The bookkeeping candidate will be expected to manage the monthly accounting needs of multiple clients including full bookkeeping and financial statement compilation. Candidate will also assist in client research and compliance questions and in preparation of corporate and individual tax returns as required. Daily interaction with monthly accounting clients and answering client inquiries will be expected in this position.



This position may offer the opportunity for advancement and specialization with firm growth and with candidate demonstrated ability and desire over time.



Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have an attention to detail, be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks completed within deadlines, and have a strong desire and ability to learn and adapt in a changing and complex environment. Additionally, an outgoing and friendly personality is desired as frequent/daily client contact in person and on the phone will be expected in this position. Candidate must be able to multi‐task multiple priorities and work in coordination with other staff members to meet multiple office and client needs.

Required Skills:

Have or will obtain associates degree in accounting, certificate in bookkeeping OR demonstrated equivalent experience

Microsoft office suite 2016

Proficient ability to work with computers and technology in a paperless office

Demonstrated accounting knowledge and interpersonal skills

Attention to detail, ability to interact with clients, driven, and deadline oriented

Ability to lift up to 25lbs and sit for extended periods of time

QuickBooks accounting experience with 2020 and newer version.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with UltraTax.

CRM software experience.

Schedule: Full time ‐ exempt

Location: Carlsbad, NM or Artesia NM

Pay: To be determined based on experience.



Required Experience:

Accounting: 3 years (Required)

QuickBooks: 3 years (Required)

experience in a CPA Firm or public bookkeeping firm (preferred)

Education:

Associates or 2 years equivalent additional experience
