Today's remote office does not suck... There's a myth about the laptop lifestyle that you can vacation whenever you want.

While that's kinda true, and you should totally take a reasonable amount of vacation time to unplug, you need to understand that when working remotely, you still have to work! Many people forget this and end up losing clients due to always being gone.

I took vacation in January and totally unplugged. In February I'm working remote. I may have odd hours because I'm in a different time zone or catching the morning dive boat, but the work is still there.

No matter what, this office is still wayyy better than being cold in the Midwest!

Nobody likes a negative Nancy. Especially at a networking event. These folks are here to network and do business, not to hear how bad your morning is going. Save that stuff for another day and start networking like it’s your job (because it is).
