The first of our special $500 scholarship dance-off competitions is named for Frank and Peggy O'Neill, TCRG, ADCRG, who met at a ceili in 1936 where he was singing and she danced the Blackbird.

Requirements
Perform the Blackbird Traditional Set Dance in its entirety (lead, set, step, 2nd set & last step). Please note that this is the FULL Blackbird, and continues past the lead/step normally performed in competition! (See the NCF Instagram page for a demo from the O'Neill-James School of Irish Dancing.)

Who is eligible?
The Frank & Peggy O'Neill Scholarship Dance-Off is open to dancers of any age and from any school EXCEPT Open Champs.

Why is this called a "scholarship" dance off?
Following the competition, the winner will be awarded a $500 cash Scholarship Prize to apply to the activity of their own choice. The aim is to encourage dancers to pursue excellence and carry on the love of the dance.

The All-American Championships on 25 July and the 37th Nation's Capital Feis on 26 July are back-to-back feisanna, but the schedules are not identical! The infographic here is a cheat sheet to their unique offerings.

Competing in the U5-O15 age groups for First Feis, Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Novice, Prizewinner or Figures? Register for the 37th Nation's Capital Feis on Sunday!

Competing as an adult at any level? Register for the All-American Championships on Saturday!

Competing as a Prelim or Open Champ? All ages can register for both feisanna!

As the United States celebrates the 250th anniversary of independence, dancers attending the All-American Championships and Nation’s Capital Feis will have the extraordinary opportunity to celebrate Irish dancing against the backdrop of the most famous landmarks in Washington DC.

The Exhibition at the U.S. Capitol will take place on Friday, 24 July 2026 at 6PM at Union Square on the U.S. Capitol Grounds.

Moving to Friday night means at least 60% less noonday sun, and that dancers of all ages and levels can participate without conflicts. Register for the Exhibition as part of the All-American Championship Feis at QuickFeis.com.

This is an exhibition - photos are not only allowed but encouraged! The feis will provide a professional photographer to help ensure you do not miss a minute. Announcing the inaugural All-American Championships Feis! The first of the back-to-back feisanna on the weekend of 25-26 July will feature competitions for Adults of all levels and Prelim/Open Champs of all ages, plus special competitions - including five $500 scholarship dance-offs.
