The greatest measure of wealth is the impact it has on the people and causes that matter most.

As late summer arrives, many families find they have a little more space to pause and reflect outside of the pace of everyday life. It's a natural time to look beyond quarterly returns and portfolio performance and consider the bigger picture.

What is your wealth meant to accomplish? Does your financial plan reflect the values you hope to pass on? If your children or grandchildren were asked about your family's approach to money, would they understand the principles behind your decisions?

These questions don't have dollar amounts attached to them, but they often shape a family's legacy more than investment performance ever could. A thoughtful financial plan isn't just about growing assets. It's about preparing the next generation, creating opportunities, supporting the people and causes that matter most, and ensuring your wealth has a purpose beyond your lifetime.

Some of the most meaningful planning conversations have very little to do with markets. They center on values, communication, responsibility, and the kind of legacy you want your family to carry forward.

As interest in SpaceX has grown, so have the questions we're receive from clients.

Yes, you can now buy SpaceX directly. It trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker SPCX.
No, owning it doesn't automatically mean you're diversified. One stock, however exciting, is still one stock.

Going public doesn't automatically make SpaceX the right fit for every portfolio. The better question is whether it aligns with your goals, risk tolerance, and long-term plan. We put together answers to the most common SpaceX questions we're hearing.

August is National Make-A-Will Month.

Creating or updating your will is an important step, and many families check that box every few years. But what would happen if your children inherited everything tomorrow? Would they understand not just what you left them, but why?

A will leaves instructions for your assets but rarely explains the thinking behind them. More families are now pairing their estate plans with a Family Values Statement, a document built to carry that context forward.

SpaceX is now public, and a lot of investors are asking the same question: do I already own it?

The answer depends on how your money is invested. If you hold individual stocks or a direct indexing strategy, you'd generally see SPCX listed directly. If you hold ETFs, mutual funds, or private investment funds, exposure varies fund by fund, and some may not hold it at all.

Short-term hype and long-term performance are rarely the same story. SpaceX may prove out over years, but the excitement around the IPO hasn't translated into strong returns so far.

Our latest post breaks down exactly where SpaceX might be sitting in your portfolio. Read it here: https://omegawealthmanagement.com/do-i-already-own-spacex-heres-how-to-check-your-portfolio/

Every August, parents start thinking about the school year ahead. For families with significant wealth, back to school can raise a bigger question: how do you teach children to manage wealth once it becomes theirs?

Account balances tell only part of the story. Conversations about money, values, and responsibility often make the greatest impact.

Families who talk openly about wealth, and about the reasoning behind key decisions, tend to raise children who are ready to carry it forward.

Intentional planning today can shape how the next generation handles wealth for decades. Reach out to our team to start the conversation: https://omegawealthmanagement.com/contact-us/

SpaceX went public this summer near $200 a share. The stock is now down about 25% from that price.

We've seen this pattern before, in 2001, in 2008, and now again with new IPOs and prediction markets pulling in headlines. Excitement comes first. Perspective follows with time.

Investors who do well over time stay invested, maintain a long-term view, and keep the money they'll need in the short term separate from the money that has time to grow.

Our latest post looks at what history can teach us about market speculation. Read it here: https://omegawealthmanagement.com/market-speculation/

What surprises people most after a major liquidity event?

It’s not always the money. Often, it’s the quiet shift that follows.

After years of building toward a sale, many owners expect relief, freedom, and a clear sense of what’s next. Sometimes that happens. But just as often, the close brings new questions about identity, purpose, family, and how to make thoughtful decisions in a life that suddenly looks very different.

Lisa Kirchenbauer shares what many people don’t expect after liquidity, and why preparing for the transition matters just as much as preparing for the transaction.

A liquidity event isn’t just a transaction, it’s a transition. And we know that often when money changes, life changes and when life changes, money changes.

Susan Bradley’s framework for major financial change gives helpful language for what many business owners experience: Anticipation, Ending, Passage, and New Normal.

Anticipation is the time before the event, when thoughtful preparation can shape what comes next. Ending is the close itself, where the deal is signed and funds are transferred. Passage is the uncertain space after the close, when the old structure is gone and the new one hasn’t fully formed. New Normal is the life that begins to take shape on the other side.

When owners prepare for each stage, the transition can feel less like something that happened to them and more like something they chose.
