In January, SpaceX awarded Elon Musk a compensation package worth 1 billion Class B shares.
There’s one catch: the shares only vest if SpaceX successfully creates a permanent human colony on Mars with at least 1 million residents and reaches valuation targets that could put the company at $7.5 trillion.
Then in March, Musk received another 302.1 million shares tied to goals such as building data centers beyond Earth and increasing the company’s value to $6.6 trillion.
Think about that for a moment.
One of the world’s biggest companies is literally setting goals for humans to live and build infrastructure beyond Earth.
