About Health Insurance through the Market Place (Obamacare)

If you have health insurance through the Marketplace (Obamacare) or are trying to apply for 2016, this is the enrollment period! It will last until December 15th if want coverage to start from January 1st.

If you started your insurance plan in 2014 or 2015, you will be getting a renewal letter. Some companies are offering lower premiums than last year. The insurance company may increase your deductible amount as well. DO NOT let your plan renew automatically. If there is a high deductible, you have to pay a lot out of pocket for your medical expenses.

Since incomes can fluctuate, it is important to keep track of that information as well. If this information is not updated, there may be unexpected expenses during your tax returns.
