We were honored to welcome a congressional staff delegation from the offices of Senator Chris Murphy, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Congressman Rep John Larson, and Congresswoman Rep. Rosa DeLauro to Leonardo DRS in Danbury, Connecticut, for a firsthand look at our operations.

The visit highlighted how Leonardo DRS designs and builds key subsystems for the Navy’s submarine and carrier fleets, including reactor plant instrumentation and controls, machinery controls, ruggedized displays, plant monitoring, weapons and stores elevator systems, and sensors. Additionally, we showcased our parallel commercial role in supplying instrumentation and sensors to commercial nuclear power plants here and abroad.

Thank you to the staff delegation for taking the time to see this technology, and this team, up close. We're proud to call Connecticut home, and at the end of the visit, the delegation was able to view the plans for our new 141,000sqft facility, which will bring DRS's growing Connecticut operations together under one roof in a modern, purpose-built campus.

The Navy's shift to unmanned systems is changing the fleet from two directions at once.
Unmanned platforms need power systems that can endure the harshest marine environments, mission after mission. And as unmanned threats get smarter, our forces need the ability to detect, track, and defeat them just as fast.

Leonardo DRS is built for both sides of that challenge. Our Naval Power Systems deliver the efficiency and reliability unmanned platforms need to operate at range. And our Maritime Mission Equipment Package (M-MEP) gives ships, ports, and expeditionary forces a scalable way to counter unmanned threats.

We'll be talking about both at UMST USA, September 14–16 in Arlington, VA.

At Leonardo DRS, we use validated, physics-based modeling and simulation to reduce risk and accelerate development of advanced naval power and propulsion systems.

Our models help inform ship specifications, predict system behavior, establish interfaces early and support control software integration before hardware is available. Through Hardware-in-the-Loop testing, we can identify issues sooner, shorten schedules and improve confidence before systems ever reach the fleet.

It is a disciplined, model-based approach that helps deliver reliable performance from initial design through long-life support. Read more here: https://bit.ly/4gGsqfX

We were honored to welcome congressional staff from the offices of Senator Eric Schmitt, Senator Josh Hawley, Congressman Bob Onder (MO-03), and Rep. Mark Alford (MO-04) to Leonardo DRS Land Systems in Bridgeton, Missouri, for a firsthand look at our counter-UAS capabilities.

The visit highlighted how Leonardo DRS is helping the Army detect, identify, track, and defeat Group 1-3 UAS threats — from mobile, integrated air defense platforms to directed energy and electromagnetic attack solutions engineered right here in Missouri. As drone threats evolve on the modern battlefield, these systems give Warfighters the ability to maneuver with confidence and protect formations in contested environments.

Thank you to the staff delegation for taking the time to see this technology, and this team, up close.

Small UAS missions are driving demand for ISR and targeting solutions that deliver more capability in less space.

Leonardo DRS’ STAG™-5 SLD ISR targeting gimbal becoming the first of its kind added to the U.S. Department of War’s DoW Blue UAS Framework underscores where the market is headed: compact, trusted, mission-ready systems that bring precision, stabilization, and interoperability to the tactical edge.
