What is one thing people might not know about your job?
People might not realize how many different businesses I get to learn about and see. Every business has a different story and I get to learn how they operate.

What is one piece of advice you’d give someone opening an account or applying for a loan for the first time? Don’t hesitate to reach out to employees of the bank and ask questions on what account or loan is best for them and their situation. Let them know what your plans are so they can help build you the best package that you need to help you in your every day life.

What is your favorite part about your role with USB? Making dreams happen. I get to help people achieve their goals and coach them through the process.

What’s the first thing you want a new customer to know about our team? We are here to help! Don’t hesitate to call or stop by the bank we have someone here eager to help you.

What is go-to coffee/drink and/or snack? Dr Pepper and Little Debbie/Hostess snacks

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go? Austria/Switzerland

What is one fun fact about you that might surprise people? I’m an avid duck hunter and take an annual trip to Canada to hunt ducks.

It's Team Tuesday! Get to know Tara Woods, AVP, Corporate Trainer and Corporate Recording Secretary, officing out of Winfield, KS.

What is one thing people might not know about your job?
Banking is such a dynamic and robust industry. There is so much more to it than processing customer transactions and making loans. Training supports everything from new employee onboarding, regulatory compliance, process improvements, customer service skills, major project rollouts such software implementation and new product rollouts.

What is one piece of advice you’d give someone opening an account or applying for a loan for the first time?
Ask questions! Our team is here to help you throughout the entire process, and we want you to understand every stop along the way. When it comes to your finances, no question is too big or too small.

What is your favorite part about your role with USB?
The collaboration. At one point or another, I get to work with every team member at Union State Bank. Most days, I learn as much from our team as I teach.

What’s the first thing you want a new customer to know about our team?
We truly care about the people and communities we serve. We live and work in the same communities as our customers, so we are invested in helping them succeed.

What is go-to coffee/drink and/or snack?
Diet Dr. Pepper and homemade popcorn.

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go?
Egypt! I have always been fascinated by the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx. Otherwise, send me to a beach where I can listen to the ocean all day.

Favorite TV Show or Movie right now?
Watching Indiana Fever games with my family. If I miss a live game, I avoid social media so I can watch it later without knowing the outcome!

What is one fun fact about you that might surprise people?
During basketball season, our school band was short on members, so a few moms (including me) became honorary band members. I've never played an instrument, but I helped keep beat on the drum and had a blast cheering on the students!

It's Team Tuesday! Get to know Amanda Kite, Senior Mortgage Servicing Specialist, officing out of Winfield, KS.

What is one thing people might not know about your job?
Mortgage servicing covers a lot more than just traditional home escrows. I manage escrows across our entire loan portfolio, handle secondary market servicing and reporting, and oversee insurance claims from start to finish.

What is one piece of advice you’d give someone opening an account or applying for a loan for the first time?
You don’t have to know exactly what you need before you come in. We will take the time to understand your goals and help you find the option that best fits you best.

What is your favorite part about your role with USB?
I enjoy the problem-solving side of my job and being someone my coworkers and customers can count on.

What’s the first thing you want a new customer to know about our team?
We genuinely care about our customers and their individual needs. We’re part of the same community, so our customers are also our neighbors, friends, and familiar faces around town.

What is go-to coffee/drink and/or snack?
Definitely an iced coffee from Starbucks!

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go?
Somewhere tropical. I’ve never been to the beach, so that’s on my bucket list!

Favorite TV Show or Movie right now?
I love watching sports, and Big Brother is my summer tradition. I’ve watched every summer since Season 1!

What is one fun fact about you that might surprise people?
I am pretty competitive, and I may be just as competitive when it comes to my kids.
