It's Team Tuesday! Get to know Amanda Conrad, VP, Director of Retail Operations.

What is one thing people might not know about your job? I have to be a multitasker! I’m constantly jumping from one thing to the next and back again, sometimes all at the same time. Before becoming Director of Retail, I worked in a customer-facing role, and I do miss interacting with the public. Now, I like to say my employees are my “customers.” I love being there when they have questions and helping teach and develop their skills so they can serve our customers even better.

What is one piece of advice you’d give someone opening an account or applying for a loan for the first time? Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Our team knows what they’re doing, and they truly enjoy helping you find the best solution, even when you might not realize there’s a solution out there for you. 😊

What is your favorite part about your role with USB? Getting to teach and develop our employees. I love watching people build their knowledge and confidence and knowing that ultimately helps us provide an even better experience for our customers.

What’s the first thing you want a new customer to know about our team? USB employees are some of the best around! We want you to know that we’re in your corner and truly have your best interests in mind.

What is your go-to coffee/drink and/or snack? Diet Dr Pepper and Braum’s ice cream! No question. 😊

If you could travel anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go? The BEACH! 🏖️ Give me sunshine, sand, and water, and I’m there.

Favorite TV show or movie right now? Anything investigation-related. NCIS, FBI, you name it!

What is one fun fact about you that might surprise people? By day, I may be the VP, Director of Retail, dressed up and ready to serve our customers, but in my spare time, my family races mud trucks and four-wheelers! I’m definitely not afraid to get a little dirty, and yes, I help change the tires. 😊

The event is free and open to the community. Shredding will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to the shred vendor’s available capacity the day of the event, so we encourage you to arrive early. Household shredding only, no business shredding will be accepted.

Fall is our favorite time of year, with so many great community festivals and activities! 🍂🎉

We had a great time bringing our Monopoly-themed Union State Bank float to the Udall Fall Festival parade and celebrating with our friends and neighbors.

From start to finish, it was all about having fun, showing some community spirit and enjoying a great day together! ❤️

Union State Bank has been named one of the nation’s most extraordinary banks, receiving a 2026 Banky™ Award in recognition of its service to customers across Kansas and Oklahoma.

The Institute for Extraordinary Banking (IEB) highlights the vital role community banks play in the nation’s economy through its annual awards ceremony held in conjunction with the Best Banks in America Super Conference. The 2026 awards ceremony marks the eleventh anniversary of the event. The national award recognizes community banks that make a meaningful difference through customer service, innovation and local impact. Union State Bank was one of twenty-two community banks from across the nation to be described on the IEB website as “worthy to receive Banky Awards for their commitment to strong community banking.”
