On Saturday, our Modern Woodmen Region gifted $10,000 to Sleep In Heavenly Peace and volunteered for 3.5 hours to build 40 beds. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building and delivering handmade beds to children in need. Their mission is that no child should have to sleep on the floor, providing beds, mattresses, bedding, and pillows to children and families who otherwise could not afford them. Here is their website

I challenge each of you to check out their website and consider getting your company or family and friends to volunteer. It's an amazing experience. Yet another reason I am blessed to work for an organization that gives not only money but also time to help enhance the communities our members live in. We just awarded $622,000 in college scholarships to members of Modern Woodmen of America and will do it again next Spring. If you’ve got a child or a grandchild and would like to become a member so they can eventually apply for these annual scholarships, please reach out to me.

This member-exclusive program supports learners at every stage, with awards for both high school seniors and members 21 and up. This year, we awarded $622,000 in scholarships to help our members achieve their educational goals.

These recipients are on their way to financial security, quality family life and meaningful community impact — the shared commitments that connect Modern Woodmen members nationwide.
