I guess I need to clarify an issue I wasn’t aware was an issue….
Recently I’ve been contacted about individuals appearing on the OK Mugshot page asking for information about an individual(I won’t do that by the way), wanting to sharing information about the individual, or simply asking why I would bond an individual. It never occurred to me that some may not understand that I sponsor or advertise (much like the bondsman that advertises on JailBirds). Just because you see my picture in the corner does not mean I am that individuals bondsman or that they have even been bonded out. I absolutely support the work of OK Mugshot page(for those that are wondering) for many reasons. 1. It is a valuable tool for a bondsman. 2. I do believe that the public has the right to know what is happening in their community (as uncomfortable as it can be for someone accused and that is what it’s called) and this is an advanced way of doing that…it was listed in the newspaper but I don’t know if it still is as that has offered a digital form as well and I don’t use it. 3. Detention facilities are SUPER busy and can’t always get the image or bookin information listed on their pages quickly (although they are pretty fast) and don’t offer the bonus of past bookin pictures or number of arrests. At a quick glance I have a ton of information and that is very helpful. It is not the only tool in the toolbox but it is helpful. I also read the comments to get an idea of how much additional care, treatment, or services someone may need…. Yes, I do try very hard to “go the extra mile” to help people alter their path for the better, recover from a misstep, remember (or learn) that they matter and that they do not have to let a mistake define them if they are willing and wanting to grow beyond their current situation. Not every comment is helpful and some are difficult to read, even for those not directly affected, but it serves a purpose and informs the public without inserting opinions so I will support the page and feel comfortable with advertising on that page, unlike many others that do state opinions, make derogatory comments, encourage hatful remarks or make political statements. I run a business and who I align myself with is very important to me as an individual as well as my business reputation. I try very hard not to share my personal opinions or thoughts because that has nothing to do with my job and frankly doesn’t bring anything of value to anyone. I prefer to do business and support businesses that share that operating practice. I am Better Business rated A++ and I do not pay for my ratings I earn them. I align with those that do the same. It is how I make a living but as a business owner it is also the core of who I am. Every business owner has the right to decide how they wish to run their business and I will always respect that! I do what works for me and feeds my soul. At the end of the day, I am responsible for my own actions and advertising or promoting a page that shares my operating philosophy and attempts to serve the community is one I am absolutely comfortable with. If anyone has questions, I’m happy to answer them any time. I do understand that many don’t understand exactly what I do or where I fit in to the legal process or why that piece of the equation is so vital. Honestly, that is a good thing. Receiving a call from a mom or a dad scared and shattered is heartbreaking but it is a privilege and a responsibility to sit with them in that dark place and try to be a guide to the light. There is a responsibility to the court (community) to insure justice (whatever that may be) has an opportunity to prevail.
