Associate Portfolio Manager Lisa Schreiber joined Ashley Mastronardi on NYSE TV to preview Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's first major Jackson Hole address. Lisa noted that “the bar is low” for his speech, as the market has gotten little forward guidance since Warsh took the chair in May, and pointed to last week's bond market upheaval as a sign of just how closely investors are parsing every word out of the Fed right now.
Looking ahead to the Fed's September meeting, Lisa said the team still isn't pricing in a rate hike, pointing to a mix of pressures still weighing on the outlook. "We still have a conflict going on in Iran. We still have high energy prices. We still have tariffs," she said.
