Freddie Mac has updated its guidelines, and certain manufactured homes that were previously moved from another site may now be eligible for conventional financing.

That’s a significant change for homes that have historically faced limited conventional financing options.

This may be worth another look if you:

✅ Own a manufactured home that was moved to its current location
✅ Are considering buying a previously relocated manufactured home
✅ Have been told before that conventional financing wasn’t an option
✅ Are trying to sell a relocated manufactured home

There are still important requirements.

The home must meet applicable Freddie Mac guidelines, including:

✅ A qualifying structural-integrity inspection
✅ Applicable wind, roof-load and thermal-zone requirements
✅ Restrictions related to financing certain relocation, setup and installation costs
✅ Borrower, appraisal, title, foundation, property and lender requirements

This does NOT mean every previously moved manufactured home will qualify. But for some buyers and sellers, it could open a financing option that wasn’t previously available.
