A well-established and successful bamboo specialty nursery/farm in Sebastopol is seeking new stewards and owners as the current owners prepare for retirement. With a solid reputation as the Bay Area's bamboo experts, this business serves the greater San Francisco Bay Area and offers a unique opportunity for the right buyer to step into a thriving operation.

The nursery specializes in over 90 bamboo species, cultivated in sizes ranging from small 1-gallon pots to large specimen plants. The inventory is tailored to species that thrive in the temperate Bay Area climate, providing customers with beautiful natural privacy screens and other horticultural highlights. Additionally, there are over 80 more species available by special order.

The new owner would ideally need a site of 3-10 acres, preferably flat or gently sloping, with available water. The current owners are open to mentoring and assisting with the transition, and the business is priced at $1 million all-inclusive, with flexibility to scale to the buyer’s desired size. There is also the possibility of continuing to operate on the current site during the transition.

The landholder is seeking to collaborate with a farmer to establish an 800-foot premium cut flower farm for wedding florists using regenerative and ecological farming practices, with plans to expand to 1.5 acres by 2027. This is a part-time paid employment opportunity, with the potential to develop into an equity-sharing partnership over time. And an opportunity to lease one additional acre. Landholder lives on the property on the weekends, but there is no housing available for the potential tenant and employee.

The landholder is open to a variety of uses including orchards, grazing, poultry, flowers, and specialty crops. The land has not had chemical applications for 15 years, which may support a transition toward organic certification.

Infrastructure includes perimeter fencing, three fenced sub-sections for grazing, a domestic well with solar-powered electricity, and a former horse barn available for storage.
