Since 1976, BriarPatch has been building a sustainable and equitable food system supporting healthy people, animals and the environment. For example, they support our ability to make low-cost loans - at ~3.5% interest with no loan fee for the borrower - for farmers and ranchers selling their products at the Co-op. We are pleased to share a gift with our community of farmers and ranchers.🎁 Our new Bookkeeping Learning Center has been taking shape for more than a decade. We are so excited to finally publish and make it available to everyone. One common goal among folks who complete our courses is to adopt a proper bookkeeping system — or clean up of an existing system.

The Learning Center even includes various Charts of Accounts fully tested and ready for you (or your bookkeeper) to import into QuickBooks® Online. Free of charge! There are several versions to choose from, depending on the scope of your business.

One hundred mostly flat, fully fenced acres are available for lease in Fallbrook. The land previously had wholesale nurseries, strawberries, and tomatoes, it has been fallow for the last 10 years. Because it was previously managed with organic practices, a quick path to organic certification is possible.

The landholder is open to one or two tenants, including a nonprofit that could act as a master lessor, and welcomes uses like pasture, flowers, or row crops, with a preference for short-term crops. While there is no existing fixed infrastructure, tenants can bring or build a mobile shed with landholder input. The land includes a 3” water meter with potential electrical connection, and the landholder is willing to collaborate on water supply improvements. There are two on-site rental houses that could potentially become available if tenants leave.

The lease rate and term are flexible, and the landholder is offering crop mentorship.

Check out the North Fork Meat Summit and share with your networks! The is co-hosting this first-in-California "Meat Summit," which features community, education, and meat producer and processor visits on October 15-16 in Etna, about 30 minutes from Yreka.

The full program includes ranch and processing facility tours and a business planning session. It's designed primarily for those in the ranching and meat supply industry. The evening portion features a trade show, butchery demonstration, panel discussion, and on-ranch dinner, and is open for public registration. Registration is $150 for the full program or $75 for the dinner only. Limited scholarships are available for ranchers and first-generation farmers and ranchers.

The Meat Summits are supported by groups including the Wallace Center at Winrock International, Practical Farmers of Iowa, the Niche Meat Processor Assistance Network, and more. Go to https://www.northforkmeatsummit.com/ for more info.

15+ acres of flat and fenced agricultural land are available for lease north of Santa Rosa, CA. Surrounded by vineyards on two sides, the property offers a rural setting with easy access to Sonoma County w**e country.

The land has been seasonally grazed by sheep in recent years, with no recent chemical applications, offering a quick path to organic certification. The landholders are open to a long-term lease for up to three tenants. Property might be suitable to various uses including row crops, livestock grazing, or permanent crops like orchards and vineyards. Interested landseekers are asked to submit a production plan outlining their intended use. Landholders are willing to provide mentorship focused on crop management.

While there are no buildings on the property, water sources include two wells. A 98-foot-deep well currently serves the primary residence and could potentially be shared, while a second 181-foot-deep well requires pumping infrastructure to serve as field supply. No irrigation is currently in place, but the landholders are open to collaborating on installation.
