🌩️ Wisconsin Friends: Big Storms May Develop Today! 🌩️
A little preparation now can save a lot of headaches later. Here are a few simple things to do before the storms roll in:
✅ Secure or Bring In Patio Furniture
Chairs, cushions, umbrellas, grills, and outdoor décor can become flying projectiles in strong winds.
✅ Move Potted Plants
Large pots can tip over and break, while smaller pots can be blown across your yard. Move them into a garage, shed, or sheltered area.
✅ Check Trampolines & Outdoor Toys
Anchor trampolines if possible and bring in bikes, toys, sports equipment, and anything lightweight.
✅ Park Vehicles Wisely
If hail is possible, move vehicles into a garage or covered area. If you don't have one, avoid parking under weak or damaged tree limbs.
✅ Clear Gutters & Drains
Heavy rain can cause water backup. Make sure gutters and downspouts are clear and directing water away from your home.
✅ Charge Devices
Have phones, flashlights, and portable chargers ready in case of power outages.
✅ Watch for Warning Signs
Be alert for:
⚠️ Sudden darkening skies
⚠️ Increasing wind gusts
⚠️ Large hail
⚠️ Frequent lightning
⚠️ Tornado watches or warnings
📸 If damage occurs, document everything.
Take photos and videos before making temporary repairs, and keep receipts for emergency expenses.
Stay safe, Wisconsin! 💙🌪️⛈️
