Here’s what you SHOULD do if a debt collector calls:

• Do not confirm personal information immediately
• Do not admit the debt is yours
• Do not agree to payment arrangements on the spot
• Ask them to send EVERYTHING in writing
• Request debt validation before discussing the account
• Keep records of every call, date, and company name

Remember: you have rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). A collector must be able to validate the debt they claim you owe. 📑

Never let fear or pressure rush you into making decisions over the phone. Knowledge is power when it comes to protecting your credit. 💳✨
