We proudly support all of our friends and family who have spent their lives dedicated to Choate Mental Health and the state of Illinois.
From the past employees to the present, your sacrifice has supported this community. You have raised your families, bought endless dinners, vehicles, houses, and insurance to protect it all. We all owe you a debt of gratitude.
You have shown passion and empathy in an extremely challenging environment. Instead of applause, you’ve been given criticism from perspectives of misinformation. Failed policies and lack of evolution in Springfield have been pushed as far south as our state borders will allow.
So here we are with innocent patients lives upended, dedicated employees without jobs, and a beautiful facility with millions spent in recent renovations being left severely underutilized.
Mental Health doesn’t follow geographical lines and antiquated metrics don’t do justice to a team that has worked for decades making the extreme majority of patients days a little brighter. This team and facility should be leading the fight against our current mental health crisis, instead our state is retreating.
To every Choate employee that has shown up every day to help others and support our community, Thank you
