You can't afford a house these days.
No, you can't afford that house these days.
Right now, you can't buy a house in Ann Arbor for under $250k, so people call it a housing and affordability crisis.
I'm talking a house, not a condo or townhouse or trailer.
If you look 30 minutes in any direction, there are more than 500 houses under $250k.
$2,000/month for principle and interest, insurance and property taxes.
Down payment, less than $15,000.
You can barely find an apartment in Ann Arbor for $2,000.
Is there an affordability crisis?
Or a standard of living crisis?
You can afford a house if you can afford the commute.
I still believe real estate is a good wealth building strategy. Sometimes it starts with your own home.
