Summer is the perfect time for personal development and learning as you spend less time in the classroom and more time doing the things you love. One way we like to spend our summer time is by diving into a great read!

Here at Theta Capital, we decided to share some book recommendations from our members which offer brilliant insights into the way we think! Each book offers a very unique perspective on our mental processes and the different ways our moods and emotions can be influenced.

Mathew is from Ortonville, Michigan and is currently an Economics major in the class of 2023 who hopes to finish his undergraduate at the Ross school of Business.

Mathew is involved with the University of Michigan Football team where he joined as a Wide Receiver as a member of the class of 2019!

When asked about his favorite place to vacation, he mentioned Santa Barbara. “You can’t beat the incredible views and the relaxing environment.”.

Mathew’s favorite social media is Twitter. He explains, “You can be informed about current events in one post and scroll down and laugh at the next. There is always something interesting to read on my timeline.”

Jade is a BBA in the Ross School of Business Class of 2023 from Rochester Hills, Michigan!

When it comes to social media, Jade prefers Reddit. She says, “There is never a lack of information to learn or read about”.

Jade is also an advocate for Apple, explaining, “My favorite company is Apple due to the massive respect I have for the way they changed what modern mobile technology looks like. Who knows what phones would look like these days without the original iPhone?”

Lastly, when asked about her favorite place to vacation, she mentioned, “Korea, both for visiting my family and the amazing food. Of course, if we’re talking about Korea we can’t leave the nightlife out either!”

This week at Theta Capital we had the opportunity to speak with former Director of GM Information Technology Strategy and former CIO of Delphi, Tim McCabe!
-
Tim offered some intriguing insight on a post-pandemic world in business, offering key advice on how to interact and sustain efficiency during these times.
-
He also shared many personal sentiments of his, and some of the best advice he has learned throughout his career. This included, how to lead in a connected world, and how to understand how the world has changed in an era where algorithms are running the new world order.
-
Tim is a very accomplished man and it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to listen and learn from his wisdom! Tim is now focused on paying it forward at this point in his career, offering help to people through what they are going through at a given time, or helping them find a path for their future! We know Tim will have great success in his current ventures. Thanks again, Tim.
