Today we got some amazing news!! The three major credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Transunion, and Experian have announced that they will strip almost 70% of medical debt information out of consumers credit reports starting July 2022!! Maybe to some of you that is not a big deal. But think about those who never chose to be sick. Never chose to have diabetes, cancer, broken limbs etc. But yet, those medical bills came and were more than the paycheck could handle. The medical facilities don't care, they send you to collections usually within 4 months. So, who deserves to have their credit shattered because they got sick. NO ONE! Also, do you know, when you pay your collection off, the credit agency reports that collection new as the day you pay it off? So you think you are doing good, when actually you are hurting your credit even more by "doing the right thing". So this is a great win. I'm not saying you should not pay your medical bills, I am saying they should never affect your credit report! Today is a win for all the sick people who never asked to be sick!
