Once again, please slow down!

We know there has been concern online about reports that one of our officers was hit by a vehicle Monday evening. We want to let you know the officer is okay and recovering at home. The incident happened on January 16, 2023, at 8:40 PM, a C**n Rapids Police Officer was investigating property damage and was clearing debris from the roadway. The officer had the squad car stopped with the emergency lights activated. The officer was outside the squad car when a vehicle hit the squad car. After striking the squad car the vehicle hit the officer who was clearing the debris. The officer was transported to the hospital and was treated and released with minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The Blaine Police Department is assisting by investigating the crash.

The C**n Rapids Police Department wants to take this time to remind motorists to pay attention for stopped emergency vehicles and move over a lane to allow us to safely do our work.
