Before you buy Long Term Care - talk to your adviser about life policies that combine both a death benefit and a long term care provision. That provision could also cover in home care if purchased from the right carrier.

I just saw an ad that was talking about a way to "get out of the ACA individual mandate" and the firm is promoting buying a short term health insurance plan as a way to avoid ACA. Please - please be advised that remedy will not solve the problem. Short term health plans have been around forever and they are a great stop gap if you happen to be between jobs/employer sponsored plans. But the language in the ACA is fairly clear (I have to say fairly because I am not sure any of the language is clear) - short term medical policies do not satisfy the requirements of ACA. I strongly recommend you find someone that does this for a living and explore the consequences of this type of promotion.

My phone has been ringing off the hook - the ACA and MnSure are not exactly what everyone has been told and people are not happy. In Minnesota they are in for an even bigger surprise when they find out that dental and vision for children under 18 is required...the other foot is about to drop...If you need help or just want to chat/vent about it - call me anytime
