I've seen a lot of comparison of the bicentennial celebration in 1976 to this 250th birthday of the United States in 2026. Most of them upset for political reasons one way or the other.

To me, I wasn't around for the 200th and I'll be grateful if I get to see the 300th, but l've loved seeing the excellence of the American Experiment on display so far throughout the first half of this year.

Whether it's been Men's USA Hockey winning in the winter Olympics, all of the visitors for the World Cup praising our nation from cities to rural regions on social media, or the flag flying high with fireworks across the country this past weekend.

I have loved it all.

This country isn't perfect, but what country is? We are all prone to sin and fall short.

I'm grateful for a loving God who forgives, and for a country that celebrates the idea that a self governing people could succeed against tyranny.
