Good things are brewing at Chugiak High School. ☕️

Our office contributed supplies to a student-run coffee shop where students get hands-on experience greeting customers, communicating and taking on daily responsibilities. Seeing young people build those skills in their own school community means a lot to me.

I’m also honored to have been recognized as a 2026 Spirit of Tomorrow nominee for my involvement with Chugiak High School. I’m cheering these students on!

This year’s theme, “Rooted in Land and Tradition, Rising in Our Voices,” centers the cultures, leadership and voices of Alaska Native peoples. We’re glad to see this gathering return to our city and welcome everyone traveling here for the convention.

Looking for a Girdwood outing with a little Halloween spirit? 🐺🎃

Howl-o-Ween Hoot is happening at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center on Sunday, October 18, from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. The day includes hayrides, crafts, a scavenger hunt and a pumpkin porcupine presentation. Costumes are encouraged!
