🎣 Congratulations to our Tangipahoa Parish Farm Bureau team!

John Dyer, Rog, and Paul Bujol represented Tangipahoa Parish at the Louisiana Farm Bureau Fishing Rodeo in Cocodrie today and brought home a win in the Black Drum Division! 🏆

Paul Bujol landed an impressive 12 lb. 10 oz. Black Drum, earning first place in the category.

Beyond the competition, the rodeo was a great opportunity to enjoy time with friends, make new connections, and support two important causes: Louisiana Ag in the Classroom and the Louisiana Farm Bureau Foundation Scholarship Program.

A great day on the water and a great way to support agricultural education across Louisiana! 🎣🌾

We are proud that Tangipahoa Parish continues to lead Louisiana in the number of dairy farms. For generations, our dairy families have worked 365 days a year to provide wholesome, nutritious milk while contributing millions of dollars to our local and state economy. From Kentwood—the historic 'Dairy Capital of the South'—to family farms across the parish, we celebrate the hardworking dairy farmers who help keep agriculture strong in Tangipahoa Parish. Tangipahoa Parish has a rich dairy heritage and remains the heart of Louisiana's dairy industry. For generations, dairy farming has shaped the economy, culture, and rural landscape of communities like Amite, Kentwood, Husser, and Loranger.🌾🐄🥛

This Week In Louisiana Agriculture highlights an inspiring producer from Amite who has successfully adapted to changing market conditions by selling directly to consumers. MB Braud Cattle Company, a familiar favorite at both the Hammond and Abita Springs Farmers Markets, spent more than 40 years marketing cattle through stockyards before rising input costs prompted a new approach.

By processing and marketing his own beef, he has been able to retain a larger share of the value of his product while building direct relationships with customers. As consumer interest in knowing where their food comes from continues to grow, farm-to-table businesses like MB Braud Cattle Company are becoming an increasingly important part of Louisiana agriculture's future.

We are proud to see more Tangipahoa Parish farmers finding innovative ways to adapt to changing markets, remain profitable, and continue doing what they love. Their willingness to evolve helps ensure that agriculture remains a strong economic driver and an important part of the heritage and culture of our parish for generations to come.
