As Cybersecurity Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re wrapping up with four reminders worth carrying with you all year long:
• Bank Impersonation: Don’t trust caller ID alone. Hang up and contact your bank directly using a number you know is legitimate.
• Phishing: Think before you click. Avoid links or attachments in unexpected messages and verify the sender another way.
• Deepfakes & AI: A familiar voice isn’t always proof. Independently verify unexpected requests for money or sensitive information.
• Investment Fraud: Be wary of pressure and promises. “Guaranteed” returns and demands to act quickly are major red flags.
