Gould Insurance has been a family owned and family run business in Amesbury since 1934. Robert “Bud” Gould was running the agency with his son Jay in 1995 when they purchased C.B. Peterson Insurance Agency, also another family owned and run insurance agency in Amesbury. During that merger Matt Sherrill went to work for the Gould family and has been with the agency since 1996. Today we said goodbye to our summer intern Riley McClure🥲 He was smart, quick, ambitious, curious, helpful, kind, funny & an all around pleasure to have around. We wish him well as he’s off to complete his Senior year at Bates College. We’re already looking forward to him coming to visit when he’s home for breaks!

Yesterday we celebrated with a ribbon cutting!

For anyone that knows me, being center of attention is not my thing. To be in the spotlight and to be the one being celebrated, it makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Fortunately I had quite the crew around me!

Thank you to the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce and our staff for organizing the entire thing. The spotlight was followed by cider donut sundaes, which was the perfect touch.

Thank you to my family. I got to celebrate with my husband, our dogs, my parents, my brother, my sister in law, my nephew, my in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and my 93 year old grandfather. Thank you for showing up, you have no idea how much it meant 💕

Thank you to my friends. Having you and your little ones there was unbelievable. Thank you for fitting this event in to your busy schedules. It is truly amazing to be surrounded with so much love and support. I couldn’t have done it without you guys.

Thank you to Amesbury Mayor Kassandra Gove, and state representative Barry Finegold for joining as well. Having your support on a city and state level, feels really amazing.

We were thrilled to partner with Amesbury Chamber of Commerce and Amesbury Lions Club in honoring Matt with a commemorative lamp post downtown. A constant reminder not just of his legacy here at Goulds but to the community as well.
Congrats Matt, we couldn’t be more grateful. Love you!!!
