"We had an excellent experience working with Fred and Rachel throughout our home purchase. Fred was knowledgeable, responsive, and patient with our many questions. He guided us through the mortgage process, kept us informed at every step, and helped make the homebuying experience feel manageable. Rachel was equally wonderful to work with. She was organized, friendly, and quick to respond whenever we needed information. Together,.." says Dana

Father’s Day + Summer Solstice Market Update

This weekend gives us Father’s Day and the longest day of the year. Perfect timing, because this housing market is giving buyers and sellers plenty to think about.
The Federal Reserve left rates unchanged, but the message was clear: inflation is still the main focus. That means mortgage rates may continue to move with inflation news, economic data, and Treasury yields.

Housing is still very local. Some markets are slower, while others are seeing solid buyer activity. National headlines are helpful, but your local market tells the real story.

Dad joke of the week:
Why did the inflation number go to the Father’s Day barbecue?
Because it wanted to get grilled by the Federal Reserve.

Whether your clients are buying, selling, investing, or just trying to understand today’s payment options, I am here to help make the numbers clear.

Another one of the most overlooked financial risks during divorce has nothing to do with the mortgage. It's homeowners' insurance.

When ownership of a property changes, the insurance policy usually needs to change too. Skipping that step may lead to coverage gaps, denied claims, and costly surprises long after the divorce is finalized.

As a Certified Divorce Lending Professional (CDLP®), I help divorcing homeowners see how mortgage financing, property ownership, and other housing decisions shape their long-term financial picture. Catching an issue like this early is often the difference between a clean transition and an expensive mistake.

Midwest summer teaches us a lot about the housing market.

One minute the sun is shining, the grill is going, and everyone is feeling good. The next minute, storm clouds roll in and you grab the lawn chairs before they end up two counties over.

That is the market right now.

Inflation is still sticky, global headlines are moving oil prices, and the Federal Reserve is staying patient. But here is the good news: people still need homes, families still grow, jobs still change, and smart planning still matters.

For buyers: this is not about guessing the perfect moment. It is about knowing your numbers, understanding your options, and being ready when the right home shows up.

For Realtor partners: your guidance matters more than ever. Clear communication, strong pricing advice, and a trusted lending partner can help clients move with confidence instead of confusion.

The market may feel like a Midwest weather forecast, but with the right team, you do not have to stand in the rain alone.

Used Lisa for my VA loan and she was genuinely great to work with. As a veteran, finding someone who actually knows the VA loan process makes a huge difference. She wasn't guessing or fumbling through it, she knew her stuff.
She communicates clearly, explains everything without making you feel like you need a finance degree, and she moves fast. No waiting around, no chasing her down for updates. Things just got done.
If you're a veteran looking to use your VA loan benefit, I'd go straight to her. Easy recommendation.
