This one-night-only concert on June 12 celebrates Tevae Shoels, a proud ALT Academy alum whose journey began on our stage and has carried him all the way to Broadway. Tevae will share music from the remarkable path that has taken him from ALT to New York City, blending songs from the stages that have shaped his career.

Given the current news cycle, this might be a good time to remind you that, in early 2024, Brick & Elm published a deep dive into how things work at the city landfill. City employees, including the former landfill superintendent, gave us a tour of every step in the process.

They showed us how enormous landfill compactors flatten garbage, how the decomposition rate slows when the weather is dry, and how Texas regulations require landfills to cover up each day’s shredded and compacted trash with 6 inches of dirt.
