Amarillo, 2023. Weeks of heavy rainfall across the Panhandle saturated the ground and filled area playa lakes, leading to historic flooding throughout Amarillo and the surrounding area. Roads, homes, and businesses were impacted, and during the June 7 flooding alone, more than 200 people and 50 pets had to be rescued.

And Williams-Boyce Agency was here.

Nearly 120 years after we first opened our doors, our community was once again reminded just how unpredictable Panhandle weather can be. Through generations of storms and changing seasons, Williams-Boyce has remained right here in Amarillo, serving the people and businesses that call the Panhandle home.

Then and now, we’re still here. Still local. Still proud to serve the Panhandle.

On June 16,1969, a massive hailstorm swept through the city, causing an estimated $20 million in damage to homes, vehicles, and crops. At the time, it was the costliest hailstorm Amarillo had experienced.

And Williams-Boyce Agency was already here.

For 65 years at that point, we had been serving the people of Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle. Through severe storms and unpredictable Panhandle weather, generations of our team have been here to help our neighbors protect what matters most.

On May 15, 1949, an F4 tornado tore across the south side of Amarillo, damaging or destroying approximately 200 homes. It remains the costliest tornado to strike Amarillo, according to the National Weather Service.

And Williams-Boyce Agency was already here.

For 45 years at that point, we had been serving our neighbors in Amarillo. Through severe storms, changing times, and the unexpected, our commitment to this community has remained.

More than 120 years after we opened our doors, we’re still here. Still local. Still proud to protect the Panhandle.

𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐬-𝐁𝐨𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. Amarillo, 1936. The Texas Panhandle was in the midst of the Dust Bowl, a time when drought and powerful winds brought massive dust storms that changed life across our region.

By the time this photograph was taken, we had been serving Amarillo for more than 30 years. Through dust storms, blizzards, hailstorms, tornadoes, and everything the Panhandle has thrown our way, generations of our team have been here to help our neighbors protect what matters most.
