Hail season is no joke! One unexpected storm can leave your car covered in dents or your roof battered. For your vehicle: Comprehensive Coverage is what protects against hail damage (not collision or liability!). It helps cover those costly repairs after Mother Nature strikes. For your home: Check your Wind/Hail Deductible – it's often a percentage of your home's value and applies specifically to these storms. Knowing it ahead of time can save you from surprises. Don't get caught off guard. Review your policies today and make sure you're truly protected. DM us or comment 'HAIL' for a quick coverage check!

Hey Texas Panhandle neighbors! Looks like a serious hail storm is rolling in today—stay safe out there! Hail can cause serious damage to roofs, siding, windows, and especially vehicles in no time. Here are a few quick safety tips to protect yourself and your property: Seek shelter indoors right away and stay away from windows, skylights, and glass doors (hail can shatter them!).

If you're driving, pull over safely (under cover if possible), slow down, and stay inside your vehicle until the hail stops. Avoid stopping under overpasses.

Protect your car — park in a garage if you can. No garage? Cover it with thick blankets, tarps, or anything sturdy to help cushion the impact.

After the storm, check your roof, gutters, and vehicle for damage, and document everything with photos in case you need to file a claim.

Your safety is our top priority! If you have questions about your coverage or want a quick review of your policy before more storms hit, drop us a message or give us a call—we're here to help. Stay safe, stay dry, and let's get through this one together!

Here are some clear, concise safety pointers you can relay in your video post. I've grouped them into quick categories so they're easy to script or overlay on screen—focus on practical steps for homeowners, drivers, and general safety. Feel free to adapt them to your voice!

Prepare Before the Winds Hit (Tonight or Early Tomorrow)
Secure or bring indoors anything loose outside: patio furniture, trash cans, grills, toys, planters, or tools. High winds turn these into dangerous projectiles.
Trim or check tree branches near your house, power lines, or structures if possible—falling limbs are a big risk.
Reinforce or close shutters, secure gutters, and make sure doors/windows are latched tight.
Identify a safe spot indoors: an interior room on the lowest floor (like a bathroom or closet) away from windows. Avoid mobile homes if possible—move to a sturdy building.
Charge devices, stock up on water/flashlights/batteries in case of outages from downed lines.

During the High Winds (Tomorrow)
Stay indoors in a sturdy building as much as possible—the safest place during high winds.
If outside, watch for flying debris, signs, or branches. Take cover next to a building and avoid roadways/train tracks where gusts could push you into traffic.
Stay away from downed power lines—assume they're live and report them immediately (don't touch!).
Be extra cautious with fire risks: No outdoor burning, and create defensible space around your property if you're in a rural area.

Driving in High Winds (Key for Panhandle Roads)
Slow down below the speed limit—gives you better control against sudden gusts.
Grip the steering wheel with both hands firmly. Be ready for your vehicle to shift suddenly, especially on open highways, bridges, overpasses, or between hills.
Increase following distance—watch for debris blowing across roads or reduced visibility from blowing dust.
Watch out for high-profile vehicles (trucks, RVs, trailers)—they're more prone to tipping or losing control.
If winds feel too dangerous, pull over safely (not on the shoulder if possible—find a protected parking area) and wait it out.

🚨 Winter Storm Alert for the Texas Panhandle! 🧊 Heavy snow and freezing temps are heading our way this weekend (Jan 23-25). Stay safe out there—here are key driving and home tips from the Robert Dean Insurance Agency. We're here to help protect what matters most.

In your car:
Slow down well below the posted speed limit—give yourself plenty of extra time to stop, as braking distances can triple on snow or ice.
Increase your following distance to at least 5-6 seconds (or even more) behind the vehicle ahead.
Accelerate, brake, and turn as gently and smoothly as possible to avoid skids. If you start to slide, ease off the gas (or brakes), steer gently in the direction you want to go, and regain control without slamming anything.
Pack an emergency kit: blankets, flashlight, water/snacks, charger, warm clothes, and a shovel—just in case.
If you get stuck, stay with your vehicle, run the engine sparingly for heat (clear the exhaust!), and call for help.

For your home:
Prevent frozen pipes: Insulate exposed pipes (especially in crawl spaces or unheated areas), open cabinet doors under sinks to let warm air circulate, and let faucets drip slowly (a steady drip, not just a trickle) during the coldest hours—both hot and cold sides if needed.
Keep your thermostat at least 55-65°F (even when away) to maintain heat inside walls where pipes hide—dropping too low risks bursts.
Seal drafts: Check weatherstripping around doors/windows, add caulk if needed, and close off unused rooms to keep heat where you need it.
Clear snow/ice from sidewalks, driveways, and entryways to prevent slips—use ice melt safely and watch for buildup on roofs if heavy.
Prep your heating system: Change furnace filters if due, ensure vents are clear, and never use grills or generators indoors (carbon monoxide risk!).
Stock up: Have flashlights, batteries, non-perishable food, water, and blankets ready in case of power outages.
Outdoor prep: Disconnect and drain hoses, shut off outdoor faucets, and cover them to avoid freezing.
