You’ve never seen commitment to service until you’ve met a 90 year old volunteer!

This week we had our friends from Cal-Nev UMCOR serving in Altadena, and among the 11 volunteers we had a familiar face who crossed a significant milestone since we saw him last. At 90, Dick is still out here making sure Eaton Fire survivors have a way home.

At family night, we had him with our youngest volunteer on this project (a 19 year old from Christian Public Service). We had Kevin, our CEO and Founder, get a quick picture with the volunteers and also Logan, our construction manager.

Start young and stay young through service!

What does an angel look like? For the Campbell family it looks like a person with a paint brush. We started October off by having the amazing Department of Angels serving as volunteers on one of our homes in Altadena.

Thank you all so much for your hearts of service and the desire to get Eaton Fire survivors back home!

A big thank you to the for coming to Altadena to see recovery in action.

This week we welcomed CDP, one of our funders, to tour a rebuild and witness the impact of our work firsthand.

Altadena’s story is still being written, and we’re grateful to have partners like CDP helping shape its next chapter.

It may have been over 100F in Altadena yesterday, but our Tour of Hope brought out a huge group of people to see what one of our volunteer built homes looks like! Because it was so hot, we made sure to have ice cream on hand to help everyone cool off.
Throughout the day, our guests stopped by the property of one of our 3 bedroom/2 bathroom homes to see what we're all about. We answered questions about cost, timeline and everything in between.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our project yesterday, and we hope to see more of you, when this home is near to complete!

What does hope look like? Breaking ground on your home! We were so excited for the Perez family receiving their permit, we decided to surprise them on their property with shovels and hard hats to officially start the construction process. Thank you for trusting us to get your family home again, we're so excited for the work to begin!

What do we mean when we say we use volunteers to repair and rebuild homes? We bring in teams of volunteers to complete the lion's share of labor on our homes, including things like siding, flooring and painting to get a home ready to pass for occupancy. We supervise all volunteers using our skilled construction staff, so that we pass all inspections and perform quality work that brings families home.

If you're interested in bringing a volunteer team to serve in Altadena, California, contact [email protected]. We would love to have you serve with us!

During Family Night, one of our volunteers brought some beautiful works she had painted for our homeowners to choose. They were all so happy to pick such lovingly made art, and can't wait to put it up in their rebuilt and repaired homes!

Teamwork makes the dream work and last week we had the pleasure of having TWO groups in one serving with us to help button up two major Eaton Fire home repairs. Thank you to First UMC of Redondo Beach and Echo Lake Entertainment for coming from across LA County to serve their neighbors.

We are so blessed in Altadena to have so many people nearby who are ready and willing to get their neighbors back home after the deadly Eaton Fire of 2025. Thank you all so much, we can't wait to see you back!

This month we've had not one but TWO multi generational teams serving in Altadena! We're always thrilled when we have the opportunity to instill a heart of service into younger people, and give them a chance to impact disaster survivors.

We want to thank It's Their Mission Arizona and Immanuel CRC for making the last couple weeks so impactful during the heat wave

Just how important are volunteers to Rebuilding Altadena? Well our friends International Relief Teams framed a whole house in 7 days! That's the power of volunteers!
