What does hope look like? Breaking ground on your home! We were so excited for the Perez family receiving their permit, we decided to surprise them on their property with shovels and hard hats to officially start the construction process. Thank you for trusting us to get your family home again, we're so excited for the work to begin!

What do we mean when we say we use volunteers to repair and rebuild homes? We bring in teams of volunteers to complete the lion's share of labor on our homes, including things like siding, flooring and painting to get a home ready to pass for occupancy. We supervise all volunteers using our skilled construction staff, so that we pass all inspections and perform quality work that brings families home.

During Family Night, one of our volunteers brought some beautiful works she had painted for our homeowners to choose. They were all so happy to pick such lovingly made art, and can't wait to put it up in their rebuilt and repaired homes!

Teamwork makes the dream work and last week we had the pleasure of having TWO groups in one serving with us to help button up two major Eaton Fire home repairs. Thank you to First UMC of Redondo Beach and Echo Lake Entertainment for coming from across LA County to serve their neighbors.

We are so blessed in Altadena to have so many people nearby who are ready and willing to get their neighbors back home after the deadly Eaton Fire of 2025. Thank you all so much, we can't wait to see you back!

This month we've had not one but TWO multi generational teams serving in Altadena! We're always thrilled when we have the opportunity to instill a heart of service into younger people, and give them a chance to impact disaster survivors.

We can't do the important work of getting fire survivors home without our volunteers. One the the most rewarding aspects of that work is making personal connections to the homeowner and letting them know they are not alone. Many of our volunteers maintain contact with homeowners they've helped get home. Recovery isn't just about a home. It's about the emotional and spiritual recovery, too.

Huge thank you to our friends from Missio Community Church for their work last week to get this homeowner over the finish line for repairing her fire damaged home.

HCRN is cleaning and repairing homes damaged by the Eaton and Palisades Fires of 2025. We provide these services free of cost to uninsured and under-insured homeowners who are struggling to return home. How do we do that? With the help of our fantastic volunteers!
