It's June. Half the year is gone. Did you finally figure out if franchising is the right move?

Most business owners who want to franchise don't fail because the model doesn't work. They stall because they never got a clear answer on whether their business was actually ready.

Franchise systems with strong unit economics average $1.2M+ per location. The question isn't whether franchising works; it's whether your numbers hold up.

Take 10 minutes and find out where your business actually stands:

Some of the most important conversations in franchising happen on a floor like this. Not in a boardroom, not on a Zoom call, but face to face with people who are serious about growth.

FMS will be at the International Franchise Expo. If you're a business owner who's been wondering whether franchising is the right next move, or if you're already building a franchise system and want to talk strategy, we'd love to meet you there.

We've spent over 20 years helping founders turn what they've built into something scalable. More than 500 franchise concepts developed. Clients across the U.S., Canada, and 30+ international markets. We know what it takes, and more importantly, we know where most people get it wrong.

If you're going to be at IFE New York, drop a comment below or send us a message. Let's make sure we connect while we're there.

This one is for the veterans who came home and kept serving, just in a different way.

Scaling a business takes the same qualities that get you through military training: the discipline to follow a system when everything around you is uncertain. The ability to lead people who are counting on you to have a plan. The instinct to build structure where there isn't any yet.

What a lot of veteran founders don't know is that those qualities translate almost directly into franchise readiness. Franchising isn't about having the biggest brand or the most locations. It's about having a concept that works, systems that are repeatable, and the discipline to build infrastructure around what you've already proven.

For many, that infrastructure is already there. It just hasn't been formalized yet.

That's exactly the work FMS Franchise does - helping founders who have already built something real understand whether franchising is the right next step, and if it is, building the system that makes it possible.

We've helped develop more than 500 franchise concepts across industries. Some of the most naturally prepared founders we've worked with came from a military background.

This Memorial Day, we honor the ones who kept building.

Most business owners don't realize they're already sitting on a franchise.

They think franchising is for the big guys, but that's not how it starts.

It starts with one great concept, one founder who got it right, and the right team to help them build the infrastructure behind it.

That's exactly what happened with Paul Bessolo and .
We were in New York recently, and he shared some incredible news: they just sold their first franchise unit.

This didn't happen overnight. It happened because Paul decided to stop running his business as a single-location operation and start thinking about how to replicate what made it work in the first place.

That's the real work of franchising. Beyond the paperwork and the legals (though those matter too), building systems strong enough that someone else can run your concept and do it well.

If you're a business owner who's been wondering whether your brand has franchise potential, this is worth a read πŸ‘‡

When is a business actually ready to franchise?

Not when it's popular. Not when someone asks you to open a location in their city. Not even when the revenue looks good.

Sidecar Slider Bar just launched its national franchise opportunity after being in business for 10 years in 10 locations across Metro Detroit, with a leadership team with over 100 years of combined restaurant industry experience.

CEO Dan Linnen put it plainly: "Over the past eight years, we've continued refining the concept and improving efficiencies across the business. After expanding to multiple locations, we feel we are launching a franchise model that is truly ready to scale."

That kind of patience isn't always easy. But it's the reason the brands that franchise successfully don't end up reversing course two years later.

If you've been wondering whether your business is ready (or what "ready" even means), this story is worth a read.

Here's something most Caribbean business owners don't know: if your concept works in one location, there's a real chance it can work in ten.

The question isn't whether your business is good enough; it almost certainly is! The question is whether you have the infrastructure to duplicate it all - the legal framework, the operations manual, the franchisee recruitment process, the support systems.

That's the work. And it's exactly what FMS Franchise Caribbean was built to do.

We're proud to share our dedicated franchise development firm for founders across the Caribbean who are ready to grow beyond one location. We understand what it actually takes to expand across island borders - the regulatory differences, the supply chain realities, and the cultural nuances that generic firms miss entirely, including:

β†’ Full franchise model development
β†’ FDDs and legal documentation across multiple territories
β†’ Operations manuals built for replicability
β†’ Franchisee recruitment and marketing

If you've been sitting on the idea of expanding your business, this is worth a look.

And the number keeps climbing!

When Social Cues first came to us, they had something most business owners dream of: a concept that genuinely worked. Great culture, loyal customers, and a brand people connected with.

The question wasn't if they could grow. It was how to do it without breaking what they'd built.

That's where franchise development comes in. Not just filing paperwork and handing someone a logo, but building the kind of infrastructure that lets another owner run your concept the right way in a different city, with a different team, and still feel like your brand.

Seven locations later, that answer is pretty clear.

If you've ever thought, "I could open more of these," you might be closer than you think. Let's walk through what that process actually looks like:

Most people wait until they feel completely ready before making a big move.

Steve Bambace didn't have that luxury.

He bought a local pet sitting service with no background in the industry. A year later, Covid arrived.

He spent a couple of days processing it. Then, he rebranded and rebuilt his entire operation around technology and decided to franchise.

His words sum it up better than anything else could:

"You don't know what you don't know. But anything is possible if you put your mind to it."

That mindset is what took Calling All Dogs & Cats from a one-person operation to a franchise system with 7 locations without spending a dollar on franchise marketing.

Chris Conner, President of FMS, sat down with Steve to talk through the full journey: the systems he built, the mistakes he made, and what he looks for in the people who join his franchise network today.

Worth watching if you're running a business that works and wondering what the next chapter looks like.

Nobody handed her a playbook.

She made one. And then she made sure everyone around her knew exactly how it worked.

The meals that showed up the same way every week, the rules that didn't have exceptions, the calm she kept when everything else was loud.

Most of us spend years trying to build that kind of consistency in our businesses. She just lived it.

Happy Mother's Day to every woman who built something worth passing down in a home, in a business, or both. 🀍
