CoreLogic just released their home price insights for October 2022. 0.1% decline (basically flat), and they're predicting a 4% increase in home prices nationally from Ocrober 2022 - October 2023. For the Atlanta metro, the year-over-year increase stands to be higher. There is a better chance of getting your offer accepted today, capture the price appreciation over the next 12 months, and refinance your loan when rates drop back into the 5's next year. Supreme Lending Southeast is offering to waive the lender fees on the refinance if you purchase with us today.

U.S. home prices were up by 10.1% year over year in October, about half the annual growth recorded this spring.

Already starting to see adjustments to next year's housing price predictions after a positive CPI report last week. If this is the start of a leveling off and eventual decline in interest rates over the next 12 months, I believe you'll see buyer demand come back in a big way. Couple that with still low inventory levels, and I believe there is a very good chance you could see home prices increase next year.

High inflation, elevated mortgage rates, slowing sales activity, and severely limited housing inventory will prevent large home price drops for most of the U.S. in 2023.

This is a great article to put the current housing market in perspective. Is the industry experiencing adversity compared to the runup during COVID - yes! But the sky is not falling on the US housing market, and I encourage you to read the article and pay attention to the ones who dig into the details and don't just try to grab your attention with scary headlines!
