The first water and sewage system in Cyrus was installed in 1934. A second well and a new water tower were completed in 1970. Earlier improvements in town had included streetlights in 1904 and electricity in 1916. Remember that this year is the 125th anniversary of Hometown Community Bank, so for the first 15 years, the bank operated without electricity. Hard to imagine these days!

For those of you who frequent our Cyrus location, you’ve most likely heard about the upcoming construction planned for this summer. While getting around Cyrus may be a bit challenging, rest assured—we will remain open and will do our best to accommodate our customers throughout the process.
And don’t worry… we don’t expect it to look quite as dire as it did in 1934! 😄
